our little boy came!

just a quick update: elliot theodore was born at August 18th. depending on which due date you want to use, he could have been two days or eight days overdue. doesn't matter, he is finally here with us! his birth story will come soon, i hope.

life at home with the two boys the past two weeks has been very, very different than life with just one. it would be so nice to have a clone of myself or an additional two arms! i try to stagger feedings, meals/snacks, diaper changes, attention, reading, and cuddling...but sometimes i simply cannot stagger them...they both need me at the same time. it's really hard going back and forth, or pulling away from one kid to quick grab something for another.

sebastian loves his brother, almost too much...i am SOOO very afraid that he will touch him too hard or accidently fall on him. when Curt went back to work the honeymoon phase ended...Sebastian quickly learned that my attention was divided and started doing things like climbing on chairs, opening the fridge and taking things out, and opening other doors. all very unsafe activities. but i've already had a great start to this week with him where he has learned to play on his own, use his imagination, and understand more that he will get his cuddle time with me too.

elliot so far is a real easy going kid too, much like his brother. diaper/clothing changes and even baths are not his most favorite though. i just think he hates being cold and naked?!? it's safe to say that his legs are super skinny, which he probably got from me, but the rest of his body is large. he is getting up 2-3 times a night to eat. i'm trying to carry him more in the bjorn or ergo, he doesn't seem completely in love with it, but doesn't hate it either.

my recovery is going a lot better than after Sebastian's birth. i still am not sure if i would survive a walk longer than a mile...but i am able to move around at home, lift Seb, take out the garbage, etc.
